Benjamin's Library Cup - Help us create a new library!
My name is Benjamin. I’m seven years old. I love the library because I don’t get to read as much at school as I get to do at the library. We barely have time for reading at school. My teacher at school is Mrs. McCann. I like lots of stuff about her. Mostly, she helps me stay away from reading and helps me do something besides reading like math and writing.

I really like to read. I learn stuff and it’s fun. I like to read both fiction and non-fiction. I learn a lot from non-fiction but not that much from fiction books. Those are more for fun. My favorite thing about the library is how they sort of organize their books. Also Miss Sarah. She’s just a good librarian. She checks out books and tries to suggest books that you might like. Sometimes she gets it wrong but usually she gets it right.

There’s some problems with our library. First of all, it’s too small. There’s barely enough room for two people in the aisles between the books. They get cramped in too tight. It’s also very old. It’s been around for, I think, a hundred and two years. It sort of feels old once you think about it. Another problem with our library is it’s not wheelchair accessible upstairs. So that means the wheelchairs can’t go up the steps.

Well, my dad started giving me allowance in 2010 and he said I had to donate part of it to something so I decided to start donating it to the library so we can get a new one. The picture on top of this page is me holding my donate cup. That’s where I put my money for the library. I keep it in my bedroom. You could keep your cup in your bedroom or anywhere where it would be safe. I donate $2 a week. You could do that too.

Click on the link and you can fill out the pledge form and that’s it.

Or you can use PayPal to donate once or as many times as you want.

You can bring the money in your cup to the library whenever you want. (If you need a label for your cup, click here.)  We need a thousand people to give $2 a week for five years if we’re going to get a new library. Thank you. – Benjamin
